Exhibitor discount of 12.5 per cent for members of PetQuip

PetEx, Ireland’s only trade exhibition solely for pets and aquatics, returns to the RDS, Dublin in September. The two day event, taking place on Sunday 12 and Monday 13 September 2010, is brought to the pet care industry by the organiser of Pet Expo, the consumer show successfully launched in 2007 and now in its fourth year of being staged for the pet owners of Ireland.

Event director Marie Murphy says, “We intend to build very much on the success of the first show in 2009. PetEx proved a great forum for suppliers to meet with existing customers and new potential customers in a business environment. Our PetEx networking event also provided a popular social evening for exhibitors to meet customers and industry colleagues. We are working with our media partners, Pet Gazette, to develop an interesting seminar programme and extended New Product Showcase.”

Exhibitors who have reserved space include J & K Aquatics, Glanbia Gain Feeds, Beaphar UK, Burns Pet Nutrition, Crown Petfoods (Royal Canin and James Wellbeloved), JBL, Seawater Life, Chanelle Pet, Crewood Pet Products, Connolly Redmills, PetQuip, Irish Dog Foods, Country Pet, Barking Waterproof Beds, Pedro Foods, Primo, Pet Gazette, HDS, Molar and many more to be confirmed.

The organiser has introduced the option of smaller, six square metre stands at this year’s show. Taken in conjunction with the discount of 12.5 per cent offered to members of PetQuip, that should make PetEx 2010 an attractive proposition to exhibitors on a limited budget.

Zoomark International

Established in 1985, the biennial Zoomark International trade fair is held in alternate years to Interzoo. The 2009 edition of Zoomark broke all records. 616 firms from 36 countries exhibited at the show, which attracted 20,443 trade buyers from 65 markets. Attendance by foreign buyers was up by almost 10 per cent to stand at 4,800.

PetQuip is organising a British pavilion at Zoomark International 2011 and has already secured grant funding for eligible British firms under UK Trade & Investments Tradeshow Access Programme.

Beware of phony trade show directories

A reminder of the dangers of signing up to directories that appear to be linked to trade shows

Expo-Guide is at it again. With Glee and Petindex now three months away, Expo-Guide, which hails from Mexico, is circulating exhibitors (and potential exhibitors) with an invitation to update “your pre-registered listing in our exhibitors directory”. The letter is accompanied by a partially completed listing form which recipients are asked to complete, sign and return.

It might appear at first sight there is no charge for submitting details for inclusion in the Expo-Guide, but actually in the small print you are committing to a three-year subscription of €1,181 a year. The signature box on the listing form contains the phrase ‘legally binding signature’.

We advise you never to sign up to a directory without being certain about the cost implication and whether the directory is officially linked with a particular trade show.
