year our popular Export Forum and Export Day
events are being combined and expanded to provide
attendees with more time, more room, more buyer
contacts... and more information! At least one
representative from each member company should
attend because important news will be announced
about the progress, expansion and development
of the Federation’s commercial export
activities which should benefit every member

Format
of the day
The programme starts at 10.00am with the AGM,
followed by presentations about the Federation’s
activities and the Belgian market for garden
and pet products. There will also be news of
how Glee is changing for the better in 2007.
The ‘Meet the Buyer’ sessions also
commence at 10.00am and continue throughout
the day. The following buyers have confirmed

The afternoon is an opportunity to learn more
about the practical help, training and financial
support available to you from a wide range of
organisations. The focus will be on topical
exporting issues and solutions to everyday problems.
The day culminates in key presentations from
Mike Wyatt, editor of Garden Trade News and
Ralf Majer-Abele, editor of PET in Europe, who
will highlight retail and product trends in
the international garden and pet care sectors.
The proceedings are expected to conclude by
4.30pm.

How
to register
Places at the AGM and International Trade Forum
cost £49.50 + VAT for members
of the Federation and £79.50
+ VAT for non members. Participation
in the ‘Meet the Buyer’ event, which
is exclusively for members of the Federation,
will be charged at £40 + VAT per meeting.
The Federation makes every effort to ensure
that at least one meeting is allocated per request.
However, due to the complexity of the process,
we regret that cannot be guaranteed.

Support for SMEs
at Pet Industry Christmas Trade Show
12 - 14 October, Chicago
Backer's 41st Annual Pet Industry Trade
Show and Educational Conference takes place
at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center,
Rosemont (Chicago), Illinois in mid October.
PetQuip has secured UK Trade and Investment
support through the Tradeshow Access Programme
for new-to-export British SMEs who wish
to exhibit at the show. Subject
to meeting the terms and conditions of the
grant, eligible businesses can claim a flat
rate of £1,800 towards the direct
costs incurred in taking part. |

Discount on space
at Glee Petindex
For new and existing exhibitors at
Glee Petindex who are not already receiving
a discount through a sponsoring trade association,
being a member of PetQuip entitles them
to a 12.5% discount on stand space.
In many cases that could more than offset
the membership subscription. Glee
Petindex takes place from 16-18 September
