Cash grants of £1,800 for eligible British exhibitors
Global Pet Expo, the largest North American trade show for the pet care sector, is presented by the American Pet Products Association (APPA) and Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA). The show is open to independent retailers, distributors, mass-market buyers and other qualified professionals. It is not open to the public.
This year's Global Pet Expo took place from 16 to 18 March in Orlando, Florida and enjoyed growth that far exceeded organisers' expectations. The show featured 835 exhibitors, 2,380 booths and attracted 4,691 buyers from around the world - the highest buyer attendance ever at Global Pet Expo.
Global Pet Expo's success is also reflected by industry spending figures announced at the show. Industry spending in 2010 hit $48.35 billion and is projected to grow by another 5.1 per cent to reach $50.84 billion in 2011.
Following the success of the British exhibitor group at Global Pet Expo 2011, planning is well underway for next year’s event. The show organisers are again offering an attractive exhibitor package and PetQuip has secured grant support of £1,800 for eligible British firms under UK Trade & Investment’s Tradeshow Access Programme

Message from the Justice Secretary on implementation of Bribery Act 2010
Justice Secretary Kenneth Clarke has announced that the Bribery Act will enter into force on 1 July, replacing and bringing together the current bribery laws which date back to 1889. The Act creates new offences of offering or receiving a bribe, bribery of foreign public officials and of a failure to prevent a bribe being paid on an organisation’s behalf. It also provides a defence to the last of these where an organisation can show that it has ‘adequate procedures’ in place.
The Justice Secretary has also published guidance to businesses about how they can reduce their exposure to bribery and understand the Act.
